Trenton Native, Maaziah Bethea, Joins TYWLC Staff

Trenton Youth Wrestling and Learning Center (TYWLC) today announced that Maaziah Bethea has been appointed Director of Programming & High School Development.

In this new role, Bethea will coach wrestling while leading off-the-mat mentoring, academic tracking, and college preparation. He will use data-driven insights to improve the organization's holistic impact. Bethea joins TYWLC following his time at The College of New Jersey as a Program Assistant for EOF and an Assistant Wrestling Coach.

A native Trentonian, Bethea was a standout wrestler at Trenton High, becoming the school’s first three-time NJ state place winner. Following high school, Bethea competed collegiately at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a three-time NCAA qualifier and selected first-team All-Ivy. As a coach, he has coached multiple NCAA Division 3 All-Americans, two national champions, and twice was awarded regional assistant coach of the year.

TYWLC offers free wrestling and mentorship opportunities to 3rd through 12th grade boys and girls in Trenton. The organization continues to serve as a vital resource for young people in the community, using wrestling as a vehicle to build resilience, confidence, and leadership.
